RunFlex

Your first route

You tell the coach what kind of run you want, in your own words, and it draws you a few routes from where you are standing. This is how that goes, from the first tap to the start line.

Where does the route start?

From wherever your phone says you are. The pill at the top right of the home screen shows how good that fix is: ready means a good fix, and a reading such as rough · ±600 m means the phone only knows roughly where you are. Tap the pill to ask for a sharper fix before you ask for a route. You cannot yet start a route from anywhere other than your current location.

What do I type?

Under "Where shall we take you" there is a box that reads tell me about your run…. Write it the way you would say it to a friend, such as "5k loop, flat, by the river" or "30 minutes easy, somewhere new". You can tap the mic and speak instead, or tap a suggestion above the box. Press the arrow to send it.

The Run and Walk switch sets the pace the coach uses for times. If you leave out a distance, it aims for your usual distance, which starts as the one you gave when you set up the app. Asking for what you want covers everything else you can ask for.

What happens while it drafts?

Your words stay at the top under You asked. Below them the coach lists what it is doing, step by step, and the card reads Finding the right roads… while routes are measured on the map.

When the drafts are ready, the app moves on to the deck by itself. If it needs you to decide something first, it waits. For example, when there is no park right next to you, it shows the nearest ones and asks you to tap one.

If nothing could be drawn, the card says I couldn't lock a route and offers Re-ask, which puts your words back in the box to edit.

How do I choose?

Swipe through the deck, one card per draft, and the map redraws each one. The alternates deck explains how to compare them.

Tapping a card, or the Take draft button under it, opens that route's run screen. Nothing is recorded yet.

How do I start running?

The run screen shows the route with its distance and an estimated time. Tap Start run when you are ready. If you change your mind, the cross at the top takes you back to the drafts.

A route is a proposal built from map data, not a promise about every path on it. Follow local signs and closures over the line on the screen.

Is my first route free?

A free account gets three routes to draft and look at, and they do not expire. Each new set of drafts counts as one, including an adjustment. Running a route is part of RunFlex Pro. See Subscription and billing.
