RunFlex
Help
How each part of RunFlex works, in the order you are likely to meet it. If your question is not answered here, write to support@runflex.app and a person will read it.
Your first route
You tell the coach what kind of run you want, in your own words, and it draws you a few routes from where you are standing. This is how that goes, from the first tap to the start line.
Asking for what you want
The coach reads your ask in plain words, so you can put several wishes in one sentence. This page covers what it can act on today, and what it says when it cannot.
The alternates deck
When the coach has finished drafting, you land on the deck: a set of routes that each answer your ask in a different way. This page explains how to compare them and how to change them without starting again.
Well-lit routes
Ask for a well-lit route and RunFlex prefers streets it can confirm are lit, and tells you plainly when it can't. It is a routing preference, not a safety guarantee, so run aware of your surroundings whatever the map shows.
Tracking a run
Your iPhone records where you go while you run, including with the screen locked, as long as RunFlex is allowed to use your location in the background. Here is how to set that up, and what to do if a run comes out wrong.
The in-run coach and extending a run
While you run with your phone, the coach stays mostly quiet. It turns up at a few moments with a line or two, and otherwise leaves the screen to the route.
After the run
When you finish a run, RunFlex saves it to your account and shows you your numbers, then a short note from the coach. You need to be signed in for the run to be saved.
History, progress and streaks
Progress & streaks turns your run history into a weekly streak, your records and a few charts. Open it from Profile under Your running, or tap the chart icon at the top of the home screen.
Saved routes and sharing
Saving a route keeps it in your account, so you can run it again or send it to a Garmin or COROS watch. This page also covers what you see when someone sends you a RunFlex route link.
Apple Watch
RunFlex puts your route on your wrist, with the map, turn cues and your numbers, so the phone can stay in your pocket. Sending a route to your watch is part of RunFlex Pro (see Subscription and billing).
Taking your runs elsewhere
You can send a saved route to a Garmin or COROS watch, and export a finished run as a GPX activity. RunFlex doesn't connect to your Garmin or COROS account: it makes a file, and you pass it on through the iPhone share sheet.
Your account and your data
Your RunFlex account holds your runs, saved routes and settings. Here is how to sign in, what we keep and how to delete it.
Subscription and billing
RunFlex is free to try, and RunFlex Pro unlocks the rest. Pro is bought in the iPhone app through your Apple ID, and Apple handles all billing.
